In Loving Memory Of…

Today we got the phone call that my husband’s grandfather passed away.

During this Christmas & holiday season, remember loved ones who have passed and celebrate the moments you have with everyone still with you.

Luckily, I took this snapshot of Grandpa John last fall when he visited Colorado.

Almost Christmas!

Today seemed like a slower day, filled with longer projects, rather than many small ones.

I started a batch of my husband’s beef jerky in the dehydrater, went to the post office to mail some orders to clients, only to find it doesn’t open until 9 a.m.!,

Then had Heather Taylor with Diverse Decor come over for vs. 2 of organizing HL Concepts’ office.

My list of to-dos (from organizing with her) include a trip to Office Depot and keeping her updated until our next appointment.

I also scheduled my office to get painted a couple days before leaving for a photographer’s convention in Tampa. I would like the smell of paint to fade while I’m gone. ;)

As always, I responded to e-mails and requests in between appointments.

I had a phone meeting with Marci Whitman with Boomerang Marketing to discuss a new newsletter system. I’m totally impressed, so stay tuned for details on my monthly newswire!

I have three portrait sessions scheduled for next week - so call me soon if you want to do a family portrait session during the holidays!

By the way, the lucky winner of the digital photo frame from my Christmas promo is…well, you know who you are!

I plan on continuing promotions that include digital photo frames - so keep entering throughout 2008 by using HL Concepts!

Spending time with family during Christmas-New Years

If you are spending time with your family/friends during the holidays, I’d encourage you to get a group portraiture taken by HL Concepts, LLC!

Years from now, you won’t look back & wish you had less pictures of these people. It will also be fun to look back and recall what your year was like.

I’d also like you to put on your thinking-caps and remember those who are having house guests between Christmas & New Years.

For each new client you bring to HL Concepts, you will get a 20 percent print credit from their total order amount. WOW -that’s huge!

This is a limited time offer, so make sure to take advantage of it during the holiday season.

What would you do with those extra prints?

Give them as gifts? Get that large wall print you have always wanted? Get a book-style album or brag book, ready to enjoy & show to friends & family?

Maybe you’ll create a yearly tradition of getting portraits done and the next year, you’ll look back at your portraits and remember the day you did it but more importantly have special memories of who the portrait was taken with!

I’m happy to do lifestyles portraiture that captures natural lighting and activity or studio portraiture.

I’m scheduling appointments until Christmas Day, first-come, first-served, for Dec. 26th - Dec. 31st.

Places I’ll travel to: Erie, Brighton, Lafayette, Superior, Boulder, Longmont, Firestone, Frederick, Greeley, Loveland, Windsor, Broomfield, Thornton, Northglenn, Westminster & surrounding areas.

Busy December!

I love December - Christmas is my favorite holiday and I love sharing that joy with clients… I get a lot of people wanting family portraits this time of year: for Christmas cards, gift prints, DVD slideshows, etc.

I am going to start posting more, but until I feel more caught up, I’m just going to share what I’ve been doing day to day.  Maybe you’ll learn something new about photographers!

Today is Wednesday, December 13th. I stayed up until midnight working on the studio last night (after a session from 7-8 p.m.).

Here’s what I’ve done today (minus a few details):

  • fed the dogs
  • made coffee & had yogurt
  • took a picture for a clothing donation
  • answered e-mails
  • confirmed Christmas card mailing list with hubby
  • sent out Christmas cards through SendOutCards.com
  • downloaded & did 1st edit on client’s family session
  • watermarked it
  • RedCart script & FTPed it
  • had a MOB (mother of bride) call and ask about photography agreement, sent her referral list
  • did 1st edit on another family session
  • RedCart script & FTPed it
  • ran the RedCart script for Monday’s maternity session
  • snacked on artichoke dip from last night’s BNI leadership meeting while waiting for scripts to run
  • e-mailed the two portrait & one maternity clients their proofs are online
  • spoke with client over phone about Christmas card design
  • made changes in CS2 for Christmas cards
  • uploaded the card to SendOutCards.com
  • planned an exercise date (it’s been months!) with Melody (owner of www.gimmeabreakvacations.com)
  • FTP picture for client doing Christmas cards
  • help VVA find our house to take the clothing donation
  • (now it’s noon)

Looking around my office, it’s time to clean up and find more “to-dos” hidden in the cracks! :)
