About Heather


Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog! I’m Heather Lilly (the photographer behind HL Concepts, LLC).

I have an exuberant passion for photography and Photoshop and enjoy creating artistic wedding & portrait imagery.

I grew up, for the most part, in Colorado and attended The University of Northern Colorado where I earned a B.A. in Journalism and minored (with a lot of extra classes) in Visual Arts. After college, I worked at a small local newspaper doing writing, photography, copy-editing and even sales. Since I was most noticed for my photography, I switched gears towards wedding & portrait photography and launched HL Concepts, LLC.

Besides photography, I love the color green, a good glass of red wine, and chocolate. I’m married (since June 2004) and enjoy spending time with my husband, who is a computer programmer. When we are not on our computers, we’re lovin’ on our two lab-mixes, watching movies, and appreciating a little slice of God’s creation: Colorado.
